Student 123 and I worked on creating a gmail account. We used insert F5 and the F key to navigate the forms fields in the gmail application page. After we created the account, we signed in for the first time. We used insert F7 to get to the links list to set the page to Basic HTML; and then used the links list again to set Basic HTML as a default.
Student 123 had trouble understanding the purpose of some of the questions of the gmail application, such as the security question. I explained that this was a way to access email in case someone forgot their password.
Student 123 was also a bit quick to press enter without completing the application and we had to start over. However, this was good practice for both of us to use JAWS to navigate these types of webpages.
Our next appointment is 06/23/2010. We hope to go over sending and receiving email then.
